Fans were singing in the Ducket as Berwick Rangers achieved a third Tuesday night home victory in as many weeks beating second in the table Queen’s Park 2-0 last night ( March 12th ). The match was played at a fair old pace and was a great advert for the Scottish League Third Division. The attendance was 456.
After having to reshuffle his side following the previous weekend’s triumph over Montrose because several players were unavailable for one reason or another, Berwick manager Ian Little must have been particularly pleased with the performance against the Spiders. Rangers took the lead on the hour when Dylan Easton’s inswinging corner beat the defensive cover to cross the line. In the 76th minute, following another Easton corner, the ball fell to Neil Janczyk who thumped it home.
Berwick, who visit East Stirlingshire at Ochilview this Saturday ( March 16th ), have now taken thirteen points out of a possible fifteen from their last five games. The Reserves are at home to Duns in the East of Scotland League First Division on the same day. The kick off for this game at Shielfield is 2:30 p.m.
