Berwick Rangers moved up to third place in the Scottish League Third Division table when they stretched their current unbeaten run to six matches with a 3-0 victory over East Stirlingshire at Ochilview, Stenhousemuir on Saturday ( March 16th ). It was also the fourth consecutive match in which Rangers have kept a clean sheet.
In a game watched by fewer than 250 spectators, Berwick went ahead after 23 minutes when ‘Shire’s Richard Miller turned Lee Currie’s cross into his own goal. Scott Dalziel doubled the lead on 38 minutes and Kevin McDonald rounded off the scoring 18 minutes from the end.
Unfortunately, the Reserves’ home game against Duns was one of numerous East of Scotland League fixtures called off as the weather took its toll of the weekend programme. A statement on the club’s official website explained that the postponement was the result of heavy rainfall.
