Berwick Rangers 2007 – An Evening with The Champions’ additional information.

By | on February 25, 2022 |
latest update and some additional information from George Mathison,
  • Of the 30 players / management that tracked down from the 2006-07 season we have only had 2 declines so far (Tom Britton and Alex Connon). John Coughlin will be in Spain next month, however he is keen to come and hasn’t yet ruled out his attendance
  • AGF Plant Ltd (Drew & Trish Fiddes) are our main sponsors and we thank them for their generosity
  • We ask that all attendees are at The Black & Gold for 7pm, Robert Johnson will be on the door to meet and greet you
  • A buffet will be served at around 9pm
  • You probably know that the format will be a split evening:
    • A look back at The Championship season aided by ‘fancam’ footage from 8 games and short interviews with those involved in the clips
    • The complete Berwick Rangers 1:0 Arbroath game and subsequent celebrations being shown in the background as everyone socialises (and enjoys the buffet)
  • There will be an opportunity to purchase Chris Sanderson’s excellent book ‘Mission Impossible’ with the copies signed by all the players / management in attendance
  • Recognising that you’ve already paid £15, the only fund raising event on the night will be a ‘last person standing’ i.e. an elimination game using red & yellow cards which Iain Thomson will conduct, Iain has gifted the prize which is 2 tickets to a Manchester City home game. Participation is voluntary with entry £5 for those wishing to take part
  • All proceeds from the night will be donated to Berwick Rangers Community Foundation and the Berwick Rangers FC 2022-23 players budget
  • Ticket sales have been slightly slower than we anticipated however with over 3 weeks to go we currently have over 110 people attending – please encourage others who you know are thinking of coming to get in touch or buy online, like yourself, asap please
Our ‘Ask’
  • We are keen that this is a real night for the fans so please feel free to wear your Berwick Rangers colours and indeed if you have a Berwick Rangers flag don’t be shy about bringing it with you, we’ve already sourced at least one
  • We will attempt to arrange the tables to accommodate as many people as possible – do you have a preference as to who you sit with ?
  • An item that we have been striving to source is a 2006-07 Berwick Rangers strip, if you know where we could acquire one we’d love to hear from you
  • If you have questions or requests please let us know
We are all looking forward to seeing you the 18th, it promises to be great evening and a long awaited celebration of a great Berwick Rangers team.
