Blair Henderson is Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust Player of the Year, 2015-16. Last year’s winner, Stevie Notman came second in the poll with club captain Jonny Fairbairn third. Twenty one year old Henderson, who lives in Earlston, Berwickshire, received his trophy from Trust secretary Isla Barber after scoring his 18th goal of the season in Berwick’s 2-0 home win over new SPFL 2 champions East Fife on Saturday ( April 23rd ).
There was a large audience in the Black and Gold club at Shielfield for the end of season presentations ceremony at which Blair collected another two awards. One came from the Borders branch of Berwick Rangers Supporters Club as their Player of the Year. The other marked his finishing as the first team’s highest scorer.
Other trophies were picked up by Notman, Ewan McNeil, Finn Graham and Jordan McGregor. Daniel Watt was voted Development team Player of the Year with Barry Hogg the choice of teammates as Development team Players’ Player of the Year.
A special award was made to retiring club chairman Brian Porteous in recognition of his service to the club.
Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust Board thanks all members who participated in the Trust Player of the Year poll and also Shoecare of Hide Hill, Berwick for once again backing the award.
