Berwick Rangers Football Club have announced their intention to launch an app, becoming only the second side behind Glasgow Rangers outside the Scottish Premiership to do so.
The app, available on both Android and iPhone, will be made in partnership with Newcastle-based designers Tint Digital and software developers Spontly and looks to improve communication – an area that the club has drawn criticism from fans in the past.
Spontly and Tint Digital already have an impressive portfolio having created the app of rugby union side Newcastle Falcons.
Speaking about the app’s launch, club director Callum Porteous said: “We believe it will help communication from the club to our fans in a manner which is not only direct and effective, but forward-thinking.
“Spontly and Tint have been excellent to work with throughout and have really catered to our needs. We hope that in turn the fans will benefit and find themselves with an excellent tool which not only helps us communicate more efficiently, but totally change how they access Berwick Rangers – helping us build positive relationships with them.”
The official Berwick Rangers app will be available from next Friday (7th March) and will be available to all totally free of charge. In addition to all the latest news, offers and exclusive content, fans will also be able to enjoy an enhanced match day experience through the app’s Event Stream feature, which will allow fans who are at games and other events to both discuss the action as it happens, as well as post their own images to the stream. This could in turn be used by the club on official platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and the Official Site, while it also hopes to be of great use to the club’s long distance supporters.
