Darren Lavery was presented with the trophy for Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust Player of the Year, 2012-13 after the home match with Annan Athletic last Saturday ( April 27th ). Darren, the first team’s leading scorer this season, edged a close poll in which there was also strong support for Lee Currie, Devon Jacobs and Dougie Brydon. Trust Board member David Spence handed over the shield to Darren.
Whilst Saturday was a disappointing one for the senior side with the 2-0 loss to Annan still denying certain qualification for the play offs, it was a great day for the Reserves who qualified for the King Cup Final with a battling display against Premier Division Preston Athletic at their own Pennypit Park ground in Prestonpans. Phil Addison scored the only goal of the game six minutes before half time. The Reserves will play Spartans in the Final on Saturday, June 1st.
