There was a double success for Berwick Rangers last Saturday ( March 9th ). At Shielfield, the first team demolished Montrose 4-0 to re-enter the play off zone for the first time in months. Fraser McLaren scored a hat-trick. Sub Dean Carse put the icing on the cake with a last minute goal off a Dean Hoskins’ ball. A crowd of 478 saw Berwick cope well on a heavy pitch.
On a different kind of surface, an artificial one at Ainslie Park in Edinburgh, Berwick Rangers Reserves also won by a four goal margin, comprehensively outplaying promotion rivals Leith Athletic 5-1. This match also featured a hat-trick from Josh Morris. His trio on Saturday brings his tally for the season so far to 23. Kenny O’Brien got the Reserves’ other two goals.
