Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust’s ‘Berwick Rangers Exhibition’ in Berwick Library, sponsored by the Yorkshire Building Society, ended its second week on Saturday, August 17th. Special thanks to Eric Tait for his talk on Wednesday, August 7th about his time with the club.
Here are some comments from visitors to the Exhibition:

”I didn’t know Berwick Rangers went back to the 1880s.”…………….Northamptonshire man

”Is there a book about the history of Berwick Rangers?”………………..Northumberland man

”Very well done!”…….Berwick based supporter

”You had a bigger audience for the talk than such events usually attract.”……..Library staff member

And with reference to the time chart which formed part of the display:

”I was hoping you’d give 1881 as the founding date. I have an official club publication from 1954 which definitely has 1881 as the year of formation.”……..local supporter unconvinced about the authenticity of the 1884 foundation date.

(N.B. Berwick Rangers celebrated their centenary in 1981. Some years later, further research suggested that the club was formed in 1884.)

* Three members of the Trust Board have stepped down in recent weeks because of work and family commitments. We would like to thank Steven Scott (‘Spadge’), Keith Hall and Paul Smith for their service whilst on the Board. ‘Spadge’ continues to offer ‘The Pilot Inn’ as a venue for Trust Board meetings. Paul has kindly offered to continue doing website, presentational and publication work for the Trust. Special mention must be made of Paul’s tremendous contribution in putting together our recent exhibition and in the production of our latest newsletter sponsored by ZOO Sport.

The Board still has nine serving members plus Secretary Isla Barber but if any member is interested in joining the Board to help administer the Trust, we would be pleased to hear from them.

* Trust Board members and secretary Isla Barber were joined at last Saturday’s meeting by a member from the English Midlands up for the match with Queen’s Park. The next meeting has been arranged for Saturday, September 21st, 2013 to coincide with Berwick Rangers home match against Stirling Albion
