The names of two Supporters Trust members to be guests of Berwick Rangers F.C. at Shielfield this Saturday, December 28th, for the Trust-sponsored SPFL 2 game between Berwick Rangers and Peterhead have been drawn out of the hat. Member number 357, Gordon Hood of Ryton, was picked out by Nadine Broadbent of Berwick Youth Project whilst the name of member 306, David Young of Berwick, was drawn by Mrs. Margaret Johnston, also of Berwick. Gordon and David will each be able to bring along a guest of their own to the match which kicks off at 3:00 p.m.
Gordon has been a Trust member for just over a year. A season ticket holder, he also travels with other members of his family to some away games including so far this season those at Coatbridge, Peterhead, Peterculter and Airdrie ( Queen’s Park ).
David, originally from the south of England, is a loyal member of the Trust seeing this as his way of supporting the football club of his adopted town.
We continue to publicise this game, admission to which will be free. The latest batch of posters went up in Coldstream at the weekend. Trust chairman Michael Smyth has already recorded a radio interview for the Border News and Sport insert on BBC Radio Scotland which is likely to be broadcast in the morning bulletins of Tuesday, December 24th. There is also the probability of another interview on BBC Radio Newcastle later in the week.
Interest in the match should be heightened by Berwick winning their last two games without conceding a goal and Peterhead now back on top of the table. We keep fingers crossed that the weather will be kind.
The Trust Board sends season’s greetings to all members.
