Club News

Berwick were unable to make it three Development League wins in a row going down to a Raith side which included a number of players with Championship experience.

Seventeen year old Craig Cockburn made his first appearance of the season between the sticks but couldn’t be faulted for any of the goals. The first came in the 9th minute and by half time, the hosts were 3-0 up, their final goal of the half coming from the penalty spot after a foul by Rangers’ Cal Sheridan.

Half time changes to team shape and Ethan Anderson replacing a midfield trialist led to an improved second half performance with Rangers enjoying more possession and looking more solid at the back. Daniel Watt had a powerful effort fly narrowly past the post before Rovers went four up midway through the half.

A strong run by Ross Drummond created a chance for a trialist substitute but his effort trickled past the post after he did well to lift the ball over Raith keeper Laidlaw.

The Fife team scored again a few minutes from time when Callum Robertson knocked the ball home from close range.

Berwick Rangers: Cockburn, Herriot, Drummond, Hogg, McConnell, Sheridan, Denton, Trialist, Watt, Pattenden, Coultress Subs: Anderson, MacKay, Trialist
