As you know, Scottish football has been set alight by the controversy surrounding proposals for the admittance of a Rangers newco into the senior football structure. The SPL has already voted on this (and have voted against the newco being accepted back into the SPL) and SFL clubs are due to meet on Thursday, 12th July to decide on their position.
We have asked the Berwick Rangers FC board to take full account of the views of the Trust membership when they meet on Saturday morning July 7th to consider the clubs’ position on this subject.
Trust members are under no obligation to vote, but if you wish to do so, please follow the rules set out below:
Trust members are invited to vote for one of the following options in regard to the future of the Rangers newco (for the 2012/13 season):
1) Direct entry into SFL 1
2) Direct entry into SFL 3
3) Consideration for admittance into SLF 3 if a vacancy exists, in competition with other eligible clubs who may also wish to seek admission, with the successful applicant being selected following a vote by member clubs
4) Reject Rangers newco admittance into the SFL
Rules:
a) Each Trust member only has one vote
b) Votes must be cast by a deadline of midnight on Friday 6th July
Votes should e-mailed to [email protected]
What happens next?
Once the votes have been cast and collated, the Trust will ensure that the BRFC board are formally notified of the views of the Trust membership on this matter. We intend that the Trust chairman attends the BRFC board meeting as the designated Trust representative in the absence of our Director representative John Bell.
