Berwick Rangers’ elimination by Rangers from the Ramsdens Cup on August 27th means the club’s first team has no match this weekend. The quarter finals of the Ramsdens competition dominate the domestic fixtures on what is otherwise an ‘international’ weekend. However, Berwick Rangers Reserves will be in action this Saturday, September 7th. They meet Hibernian Reserves at Shielfield in an East of Scotland League First Division match, kick off 2:30 p.m. The Supporters Trust is producing a special programme for this match.
Last Saturday, August 31st, the Reserves opened their EoSL campaign with a 3-0 win at Burntisland Shipyard. At the same time, Hibs Reserves were hammering Hawick Royal Albert 9-0.
Berwick Reserves have also entered the SPFL Reserve League. In their first game in this, at Methil on Monday night ( Sept 2nd ), they were beaten 3-1 by East Fife Reserves. Next Tuesday, September 10th, they play their first home game in the Reserve League when Cowdenbeath Reserves visit Shielfield for a 7:30p.m. kick off. That means of course, three games out of four against Fife opposition.
