SPFL Reserve League 2
Penny Cars Stadium
Airdrieonians Reserves 5 Berwick Rangers Reserves 1
On a very wet night at the ground formerly known as the Excelsior Stadium, Berwick Reserves fell to a second successive defeat following last week’s loss at home to Queen’s Park Reserves.
Rangers’ trialist keeper was first beaten by FRASER SCOTT in the 14th minute. The same player added a second on the half hour mark and to emphasise the host’s first half dominance, a TRIALIST made it 3-0 three minutes ahead of half time.
Despite losing another goal to ANDREW BARROWMAN just four minutes in, Berwick did play better in the second half.
The game’s final two goals both came from the spot. JACK MURRAY tucked one away for Berwick on the hour. Five minutes later, AARAN ROSS did likewise for Airdrie when Berwick defender Seamus Russell was sent off for a second yellow card, this one for pulling an opponent at a corner. Airdrie also had a player dismissed.
