Steven received the winner’s shield from Trust secretary Isla Barber at the presentation ceremony in the Jeff Burnlees Lounge at Shielfield following the final home game of the season versus East Fife* ( Saturday, April 25th ).
The Trust award was again kindly supported by Shoecare, Hide Hill, Berwick. It was one of several picked up by ‘Notty’ including that for Supporters Club Player of the Year. His achievements are all the more noteworthy as he is currently injured and hasn’t played since the 2-0 win at Montrose on March 21st.

*Berwick Rangers’ outside chance of finishing in fourth spot in SPFL 2 and thus qualifying for the promotion play off ended when they went down 3-0 at home to East Fife. For the home fans amongst the 523 crowd, including groups of supporters from Lincolnshire and London, the only bright spot was the Shielfield sunshine for, on the pitch, it was a woeful display against a side Rangers had thumped 4-1 in their most recent meeting at Methil in March.
Some fans vented their feelings at the end via boos and comments. The team appeared to have forgotten that this was not just a run of the mill end of season game but that there was something at stake. Only the previous week, Berwick were impressive 4-0 winners away to East Stirlingshire. Supporters’ frustration over such wild swings in performance is hardly surprising. Though Berwick’s cause was not helped by the second half dismissal of Lee Currie, even with eleven men, they struggled to make an impact. As for East Fife, the three points makes them almost certain to hold on to fourth place in the table.
