Ian Beresford is the new treasurer of Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust. He was appointed at the most recent Trust Board meeting on Saturday, January 16th which was attended by all Board members plus secretary Isla Barber and three other Trust members. Ian, who is employed as an accountant, takes over from Gordon Dickson who remains as vice chairman. He takes on the role after the Trust recently appointed new auditors, JH Greenwood and Company of Castle Terrace in Berwick. Ian will also continue as ‘webmaster’ for the Trust’s website and Facebook pages.
It was also decided that the £1,670 raised from the bucket collection at the Trust-sponsored home match against Arbroath last August could be used by the football club towards the cost of improved exterior lighting in the vicinity of the turnstiles at Shielfield. This work has already been completed and should be of benefit to supporters attending the postponed fixtures at home to Annan Athletic ( off on January 2nd ) and Arbroath ( off on January 16th ) which will have to be rearranged for midweek dates. Last season, the Trust paid for new lighting mainly inside the turnstiles area.
Further donations to the club and their purpose will be on the agenda at the next Trust Board meeting which is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27th, 2016. The venue will again be ‘The Pilot Inn’ in Low Greens, Berwick. Attendance is open to any Trust member. The same afternoon, Berwick Rangers are at home to Montrose in Ladbrokes League 2, kick off 3:00 p.m.
