A reminder that any Trust member can attend this Saturday’s (March 24th) meeting of Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust Board in ‘The Pilot Inn’, Low Greens, Berwick (11:00 a.m.).
That afternoon’s SPFL 2 match between Berwick Rangers and Edinburgh City at Shielfield (kick off 3:00 p.m.) takes on even greater significance following bottom of the table Cowdenbeath’s 2-1 win at Stenhousemuir on Tuesday night. The Fifers have collected seven points from their last three games and have cut the gap between themselves and second bottom Berwick to nine points though have played one more match than the Black and Gold.
Edinburgh City also have cause for concern as, following a 3-0 home midweek loss to Clyde, they remain just one point ahead of Berwick in eighth spot but have completed 29 matches compared to the Borderers’ 27. However, the hosts go into the game without a single success in four encounters against the Citizens already this season. The teams drew 2-2 at Ainslie Park in the Betfred Cup in July ( Edinburgh winning the penalty shoot out to take a bonus point ). City won both SPFL 2 games at the same ground by 1-0 and 3-0 margins whilst the previous meeting at Shielfield finished as a 1-1 draw.
Berwick have been badly hit by postponements this season but this week has seen more favourable weather and the team will be hoping the fans will get behind them as they strive to pick up three vital points.
