Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust has donated a further £2,000 to the football club to help offset the cost of hiring this season’s training facilities. Rangers currently split midweek training sessions between Haddington and the Heriot Watt University sports complex in Edinburgh.
This latest sum means that already in 2015-16, the Trust has directly given almost £5,500 to the club. The money paid to sponsor the home match against Arbroath at the end of August was rounded up to £2,500. The balance consists of this season’s payments for the Trust’s two publicity boards inside Shielfield and a full page advertisement in the matchday programme.
Separately, £1,670 was raised through a bucket collection at the Arbroath game some of which the Trust agreed could be released to pay for improved lighting on the exterior of the main turnstile block. These lights were in use for the first time at the two recent midweek matches against Annan Athletic and Queen’s Park.
