Earlier in the year, we publicised the forthcoming attempt by four Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust members to complete the Three Peaks Challenge. We are pleased to report that at the beginning of June, Mark Swanston, Mike Bell, Duncan Black and Brian Parkin along with Chris Eke finished third out of 48 teams competing in the event.
The ‘Three Peaks’ are the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, respectively Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. The Berwick team climbed them in that order with a lot of travelling in between to successfully reach the summit of all three well inside the targeted 24 hour period.
The quintet underwent the Challenge to raise money for Action Medical Research, a children’s charity. Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust was one of their sponsors along with a number of individual Trust members.
The picture above shows the team at the start of the Challenge before their ascent of Ben Nevis.
