Following our Football Club’s relegation from the SPFL, The Supporters Trust Board has reflected on these unprecedented events in our history, and we now wish to share our views from our subsequent discussions.
Before that, The Trust Board would like to thanks Len Eyre and Bill Parkin for all their efforts on behalf of the Football Club.
Work to shape our future starts now, and The Trust is committed to help ensure that current and future generations of supporters will have an improving team to watch; we propose doing that through two strands.
Firstly, we are striving to help galvanise the individuals and bodies into a positive and unified force for change. At an individual level, now is truly the time to step nearer our club, rather than away, and The Trust will be working even harder to encourage more supporters to join us ‘to be the twelfth man‘. The best way to respect and cherish our successes of the past is to step from behind keyboards and become an active member of The Trust, and help us to shape our future. The link to how you can do that is at the end of this message
We believe that the new Club Board taking shape, already encompasses people who have the capability and capacity to lead and drive some of the six strands of The Club’s draft strategy. We also feel that, with further appointments in time, new people with similar drive, and other essential and complimentary capabilities, will be added.
In support of that, we intend to work with The Club Board and The Supporters Club Board to support that draft strategy, as it was presented to us a few months ago, and which the three boards stood behind. In the weeks ahead there will be tripartite meetings with representatives from each group to shape and develop detail of the six strands of that plan. Equally importantly, we will all passionately endorse working together upholding the core values within the plan of Integrity, Honesty, Respect, Realism, Teamwork, Sportsmanship and Enjoyment.
Secondly, beyond building a stronger Trust and working with our friends on the other boards, we are bench-testing our own strategy of how best we should invest our funds, and the optimum role and attitude of The Trust, to ensure we are operating in the way our members wish.
Our next Trust Board is at 11:00 on Saturday 22nd June at The Pilot Inn on Low Greens, where we’ll be discussing The Trust Operating and Investment Strategy; as always, we encourage any Trust members to come along and help shape that with us.
Every supporter has a voice, typing and talking may not allow it to be heard; step forward, become part of The Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust and help shape our future https://www.berwickrangers.org/join-now/.
