Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust has pledged £100 towards an appeal to purchase an electric wheelchair for now housebound former player Stuart Markland ( pictured above during his playing days at Shielfield ). Stuart, 66, played for Berwick between 1967 and 1968 during Jock Wallace’s managerial era before being signed by Dundee United. His usual position was centre half.
The appeal has been organised by two other former Berwick players, Russell Craig, a member of the legendary 1967 giant killing team which knocked Glasgow Rangers out of the Scottish Cup, and John Keith.
Any individual wishing to make their own private donation can do so by paying into ‘The Stuart Markland Disability Fund’ at the Bank of Scotland, sort code 80-22-60, account number 1235766.
