SPFL Development League East
STIRLING ALBION 0 BERWICK RANGERS 2
Two first half goals proved sufficient for Berwick Rangers to finish as comfortable winners over their Stirling counterparts. Kieran Jack, who had an excellent game out on the right, netted the first directly from a corner. Goalkeeper Stuart Allan kept Berwick in front with a good save from an Albion free kick, one of the hosts’ few first half chances.
The Black and Gold boys stretched their lead when Jack Murray played through Grant Rose who slotted the ball beyond the keeper from 15 yards. There would be no more scoring but Berwick remained in control for the second half with Stirling up against a solid back four of Jamie Chapman, Robert Wilson, Jack Cook and Ewan Herriot. Paul Simpson’s display on the left ensured Berwick carried a threat on both flanks whilst front man Rose, as well as netting the second goal, held the ball well despite coming in for some punishment from the home defence.
